Annual Assigned Compliance Training - Must Be Completed by March 1, 2024.

To give employees the information and tools they need to provide safe, quality, and compliant care to our clients, NSM provides training courses through NSM University, both at the time an employee is hired and annually for certain topics. In addition to providing important information, many of the Compliance courses are required by The Joint Commission.

Test your Compliance Knowledge

You will have the ability to complete a competency test (pre-test) for several of the courses. If you can answer all questions in the pre-test correctly, you will be marked complete for the assignment. If you miss any questions, you will need to complete the full training assignment. 

Action Required

All Employees have been assigned the 2024 Mandatory Compliance Curriculum. The curriculum contains the courses listed below and MUST be completed on or before March 1st.

ATP Credentialing to be Completed by March 1
The RESNA and NRTTS certification portals will see some simple updates in January. All ATPs will be responsible  for managing your portal access and renewals as both organizations send invites to them regularly. Please ensure your information is up-to-date on both RESNA and NRTTS websites so that they get these notifications via personal email.

New UKG Pro Mobile App - Download Today!

UKG has released a new UKG Pro Mobile App.  In order to utilize it's newest capabilities, including your personal information, the application needs to be downloaded by January 31st, 2024.

Reference Guide for Insurance Coverage of Seat Elevation - Top 20 Health Plans Save a snap shot of this guide on your phone, for in-the-field reference of Seat Elevation coverage With Medicare now providing coverage for seat elevation on both Group 2 and Group 3 Power Mobility Devices, we screened our top 20 health plans to identify whether the plan has adequate coverage for provision. For plans where it is non-covered, clients may be able to self-pay depending on our contract terms with the plan.   NSM will not provision the Jazzy Air Med to UHC members.  UHC National Commercial and UHC Medicare Advantage Plans do not provide sufficient coverage for provision of the Jazzy Air Med K0830/K0831. The Payers Team has put a “stop” in the UPD on those codes in Fee Schedule to not supply for UHC members. Screen clients during the evaluation by asking them whether they have a UHC plan prior to making product recommendations or trialing demos. Please note, currently, Group 2 bases with no power seat functions other than seat elevation are coded K0830 and K0831. Seat Elevation is included in the base.    If the Group 2 base has tilt and Seat Elevation, then we bill K0835 for the base and add E2300. In this scenario, we may also bill E2377, E2313, and E2311 for the upgraded electronics.

Marian Piraccui Receives a Surprise Vacation from Baking Memories 4 Kids, Non-Profit
Marian Piraccui, the daughter of Sarah Bloom, a News Analyst and Reporter at Channel 12 in Richmond, VA, was diagnosed with the H1N1 Flu at a young age, which unfortunately resulted in a life-long brain injury. Presently, Marian requires assistance with a power-assisted wheelchair. JJ Waldrop, serving as her ATP has been an integral part of Marian’s journey from the very start.
