Tips to Ensure Your Performance Development Discussions Go Smoothly

As you prepare for Performance Development Discussions with your team, here are some tips to ensure the process goes smoothly.
  • Enter all employee ratings and comments into UKG by June 27th.
    • Remember, do not Send reviews to your team members in UKG or lead Performance Development meetings until your HRPDD-Timeline.jpg Business Partner or manager indicates it is time to do so.
  • If you have not yet participated in a One-over-One meeting, please be on the lookout for an invite from your HR Business Partner. You can participate in a One-over-One meeting even if you are still entering ratings and comments; just be prepared to speak to your team's performance and merit recommendations.
  • Be sure to review the 2025 Leader Performance Development Guide which provides complete details and guidance on your role in performance development at NSM. It also includes a step-by-step job aid for navigating UKG.
  • Another helpful resource is available via NSM University. The Performance Development Discussions optional course provides both new and seasoned leaders with best practices for leading successful discussions, including delivering impactful feedback to your team.
As always, if you have any questions about the process, contact your HR Business partner with any questions or to receive additional guidance.

COMING SOON! NSM’s NEW Wheelchair Cushion & Back Selection Guide Enhances Order Accuracy & Decreases Transaction Cycle Time

With NSM’s ground breaking Payer Green Light System in place, we discovered that cushion and back selection not matching client diagnosis and/or missing medical justification caused the bulk of the first pass fails for audit.  This identified the integral need to identify patient diagnosis and Medicare’s coverage criteria during evaluations to support accurate cushion and back selection in addition to cuing the medical justification by the therapist to medically qualify the client for the right level of cushion.

As a result, we have developed a new helpful Wheelchair Cushion & Back Selection Guide. The Cushion and Back Selection Guide will be distributed in the upcoming issue of ATP Advisor, and subsequent issue of HEARTSBeat. In addition, it will be made available for digital immediate download on WNSM and NSM-Seating.com  We will also be shipping hard copies to ALL US branch locations soon. We highly recommend that ALL ATPs have their own hard copy guide to reference with the clinician during evaluations.  Should the client’s medical chart fail to have a qualifying diagnosis, it is appropriate to ask the clinician and/or physician whether one of the diagnosis in the guide is relevant to the client and if the diagnosis should be added to their medical chart.  We should not recommend the diagnosis specifically to the Clinician or Physician.

If you have any questions, contact Stacy Clouse, NSM’s National Director of Product Management.
